More Hun Faults

One day it's polythene, the next day it's British Summer Time ... I wonder which astounding historical secret uncovered (and blamed on the Germans) by The World-Famous British Investigative Journalism we're in for tomorrow.

The Telegraph's investigative journalist is not particularly investigative. The UK shares its timezone not only with European neighbours Ireland and Portugal, but also with Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

So, what are we going to do about this embarassing lacuna, then? How about blaming it on us Germs?

Daily Mail headline, 1 April 2008:

"Germans give brain drain a new meaning: The secret hun strategy to undermine The World Famous British Investigative Journalism by depriving it of its investigativeness"

Which reminds me of a curiously cerebral version of Vampirism by C.M. Kornbluth, an American SciFi writer, called "The Mindworm." This is about a Vampire who somehow destroys his victims by eating their thoughts. Weird.
