Party like it's 1941

Notice anything...odd?...about the selection of stories the Times has decided to run on New Year's Day 2009?

Yeah.

Can't say I'm surprised.

A happy new year and hugs to you and the Missus, John.

I'm just back from the northern edge of Blackheath by Greenwich Park, where me, a friend and 200 others watched Boris’s piss-poor excuse for a firework display at the London Eye. Some of those assembled at the Point in Greenwich let off paper hot-air balloons, which were very beautiful indeed as they soared into the cold night sky.

Now I’m back at the ranch in Blackheath, and about to get well and truly rat-arsed. A happy new year to one and all!

And the same to you!

The paper hot-air balloons sound very cool.

As does getting rat-arsed in Blackheath.

Looking forward to seeing you sometime this year!
