To be honest, I've been more into heavy metal than anything else recently.
However, the mass of Chicago-ness in the following (a cover of Wilco's 'I Am Trying to Break Your Heart') is somehow irresistible.
J.C. Brooks & the Uptown Sound, 'I Am Trying to Break Your Heart'.
The more subdued, and very lovely, original, filmed on streets I know very well.
Two sides of a city that is, somehow, part of me.

I'm not sure this is my cup of tea, but it shows Wilco is wide open for covers in the manner of Dylan, Hendricks, Leonard Cohen, the Beatles, etc., who likewise weren't always the best performers for their own material.
It's not a version I'd listen to all the time, but there are moments when certain songs (or versions thereof) just press the right buttons, for whatever reason.
But, yes, there should be more Wilco covers out there.
Have you heard Norah Jones cover "Jesus, etc"? It is very nice.
