Yesterday's tomorrow today

Which magazine--that your humble narrator used to read avidly--had a penchant for making the following kind of predictions?

"By 2000...Sweden will have a largely automated robot society."

    Went there the other new year, and it has, hasn't it? Saw a cracking Stockholm based Bulgarian style music band at a jazz club ("Ostblocket"). They weren't robots.

    Can I patent it and make a lot of money and retire? I'm somehow guessing the answer is going to be 'no', but live in hope.
